Ski Skills: Top Tips for Expert Skiing Techniques by Andrzej Peszek
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher, who pitched it as a book for intermediate skiers looking to improve to become experts. It isn't. This is a book for beginners who can get down a slope, but want to be able to get down smoothly. That's pretty much all it covers: pure downhill, with not even a mogul in sight. Oh, and the first third is all about a pre-holiday exercise routing.
For me, expertise is about recovering from mistakes and handling difficult conditions, not simply "carving skis will ski themselves" (surely that's Day 1 stuff!).
There's nothing inherently wrong with the content of this book, but if I'm representative of the target audience it's pitched to, it's ultimately disappointing.
