Review: Irretrievably Broken

Irretrievably Broken
Irretrievably Broken (Sasha McCandless #3)
by Melissa F. Miller
My rating:         Legal / Thriller

The Sasha McCandless Series:
1. Irreparable Harm • 2. Inadvertent Disclosure • 3. Irretrievably Broken

Irretrievably Broken is the third Sasha McCandless thriller - and whenever a new book in this series is published, it goes straight to the top of my reading list.  I love Sasha's steely determination in court, the way she refuses to let her personal demons get the better of her, and how she seems to attract trouble by her determination to do the right thing.

In contrast with the earlier books, this installment is less dependent on clever and subtle legal arguments, and is more of a straight-up thriller. Of course, the drama unfolds against the backdrop of Sasha's law practice, which in this case sees her representing a man accused of murdering his wife. There's only one small problem with that: Sasha doesn't do criminal law... and as her client is innocent, there's a murderer on the loose.

As usual with this series, the action was non-stop, and I didn't want to put the book down once I'd started it. A gripping read, and I can't wait for the release of as-yet-untitled #4.
