Review: Carrot Cake Murder

Carrot Cake Murder
Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke
My rating:         Cozy Mystery

The Hannah Swensen Series:
1. Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder • 2. Strawberry Shortcake Murder • 3. Blueberry Muffin Murder
4. Lemon Meringue Pie Murder • 5. Fudge Cupcake Murder • 6. Sugar Cookie Murder
7. Peach Cobbler Murder • 8. Cherry Cheesecake Murder • 9. Key Lime Pie Murder
10. Carrot Cake Murder • 11. Cream Puff Murder • 12. Plum Pudding Murder
13. Apple Turnover Murder • 14. Devils Food Cake Murder • 15. Cinnamon Roll Murder

I'd pretty much given up on this series - I have so much else to read - but I was feeling under the weather and looking for something fluffy, when I discovered that my local library now has these available as ebooks to borrow. For a light read on a bad day, this series of bakery murders really hits the spot.

Of course, it's all very predictable. After ten books, you know the culprit won't ever be one of the main ongoing characters. Hannah knows it, too, which leads her to be incredibly trusting for someone investigating a murder, perhaps unrealistically so. Still, the story held my interest, and one or two of the recipes might be worth trying out before I have to (virtually) return the book. I do wish Hannah would make her mind up about her love life, though, especially since the "right" answer is so obvious.
