Chocolate Shoes and Wedding Blues by Trisha Ashley
My rating:

Trisha Ashley books always have the same "feel" to them - that's part of what keeps me going back to her novels, set in the lovely Lancashire countryside, with a familiar cast of supporting characters. And there's always guaranteed to be a happy ending.
But in this case the deja vu did get a bit much forr me, as every element of the plot reminded me of a scene from another book. Here be spoilers (if it's even possible to have spoilers for a predictable romance like this): there's an imminent divorce, a long-lost boyfriend who never really meant to leave our heroine, an awkward reunion leading (eventually) to a drunken encounter which each party assumes the other will regret, followed in no short order by unplanned-but-desperately-welcome pregnancy, declarations of love, and a marriage proposal.
Nevertheless, despite being entirely predictable, this was an enjoyable, gentle read which kept me entertained on a rainy afternoon.
