Review: Rosemary & Crime

Rosemary and Crime
Rosemary and Crime by Gail Oust
My rating:         Mystery
Source: Publisher (via Netgalley)

Piper Prescott is about to open her very own spice shop, with a cookery demonstration from a local celebrity chef. Unfortunately he comes in to get some juniper berries the night before the grand opening... and the next time Piper sees him, he's lying in a pool of his own blood.

As the first on the scene, Piper becomes an automatic suspect, and to help clear her name she dives into the investigation herself. I loved her down-to-earth approach - and the hints of possible romance with both her alibi and the investigating policeman (which I hope will be developed in later books).

A solid and enjoyable start to a new cozy series, and one I'll definitely look out for.
